Jason K. Bussman, adjunct instructor of English, has announced the release of his debut memoir on fatherhood and childhood: "Fumble: Just a Dad Trying Not to Drop the Ball."

The book, a collection of 21 stand-alone essays and one poem, is "an honest, unfiltered playbook for winning at parenthood," Bussman said. It captures imperfect "dad" moments with humor, sensitivity, and honesty, with anecdotes offering fresh perspectives that readers will identify with, he said.

The book will be available on Amazon later this month.

Bussman earned his MFA in Creative and Professional Writing from Western Connecticut State University. He focuses on the memoir genre for the most part, but occasionally dabbles in travel writing, sports writing, and the occasional piece of fiction. Bussman has been teaching ENG 101 and ENG 102 courses at SBU since fall of 2022.
